We hosted the second annual Volkswalk in honor of Thomas Jefferson’s birthday, the founder of UVA, on April 15, 2012. We were fortunate to work with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation and Michie Tavern to bring a unique setting to the volkswalking community. Participants were able to access Monticello Mountain and Grounds as well as the Saunders-Monticello Trail as part of our event.
2013 will be a new step in the Cavalier Volkssporting Club history as we will be partnering with the University of Virginia Foundation and will be hosting our next volkswalk at Morven. This stunning estate in eastern Albemarle County was gifted to the University of Virginia Foundation in 2001 by John W. Kluge for educational and charitable purposes. We will be touring the grounds of this almost 3,000 acre farm on April 14, 2013.
