The walk features the scenic Rappahannock River, historic Fredericksburg, the length of the University of Mary Washington campus, and grounds fought over during the Civil War Battle of Fredericksburg in December 1862. 5/10 km (3.1/6.2 miles) walk through Historic Ashland with its serene landscapes, historic architecture, and trains that rumble down the main street. The route also passes through the beautiful campus of Randolph-Macon College. Trail Rated 1. This year we offer an "A" Award patch at this walk.
Each Spring and Fall GVA offers a unique walk to celebrate the season. Please contact one of the above individuals for dates and additional information or go to www.AVA.org. This Spring we are hosting a walk in Warrenton, Virginia on April 17, 2010. In the Fall we are hosting a walk in Fredericksburg, Virginia on September 11-12, 2010, and a night walk on December 18, 2010.
